Hartbeeps classes run throughout the UK, offering a multi-sensory, interactive experience for babies from birth to children up to the age of 5. The Newbury & Thatcham franchise is run by local mum of two Jo who became enchanted by Hartbeeps following a visit to one of the sessions. After the birth of her daughter Jo decided that her previous job was no longer for her and Hartbeeps was the perfect job to fit around her family. Jo says that she finds it a pleasure to bring the magical world of Hartbeeps to babies and children every week. She runs the following sessions at Eddie Catz in Newbury on Wednesdays: Baby Bells (newborn to sitting); Baby Beeps (sitting to toddling) and Happy House (walking to 5 years). There is also a Happy Beeps session at Old Bluecoat School in Thatcham on Monday mornings; Happy Beeps is a mixed aged class for pre-walkers to 5 years. Jo runs the bespoke Hartbeeps Adventures programme in various nurseries and preschools in the Newbury and Thatcham area as well, these sessions offer a creative bolt-on to their existing curriculum and have been structured around the four key themes of the EYFS.

We recently visited a Happy Beeps session with our eager West Berkshire Mums three year old. Happy Beeps was 45 minutes of sensory fun featuring a range of props and puppets, funky music and lights along with a mixture of original and well known songs. The session began with everyone waving hello before the ‘sunshine’ came out for all the children to play with. This was followed by Dexter the Cat coming around to say hello to everyone, he even got some cuddles! A couple of original songs featured before we went on a trip to the farm. We travelled there on our tractors (it was a bit bumpy at times!) and when we arrived the farm was full of sheep, cows, pigs and horses. There were sheep headbands, farmers’ hats and there was even some pom pom shaking which our little one loved; of course the music for this part of the session was ‘Old MacDonald’ along with a disco version of ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow.’ The lights were then turned down and the animals were tucked in for a little sleep. Colourful lights were projected onto the walls and ceiling and the children were invited to snuggle down under blankets while a soothing version of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ played. The session ended with two minutes of tidying followed by the ‘Tidy Time’ song and each little one received a sticker.

There were lots of smiles all round during the session and our little one had a fantastic time. Each week there is a different theme allowing Hartbeeps to take your children on a journey of imagination.
